March 21, 2008. David T. Chastain's band Southern Gentlemen will release its new album, Valley of Fire, on May 13 through Leviathan Records. The CD's title cut is currently available for streaming on the group's MySpace page.

From May 4, 2006 until today, August 24, 2006, Chastain Central has been off-line due to a serious communication problem with our domain name registrar. June 14, 2006. Brandi Chastain and husband Jerry Smith had a son born on June 8th at 10:34 pm. Jaden Chastain Smith weighed in at 7 lbs, 10 oz and was 22 inches long. Jaden is Brandi's first child.
April 24, 2006. Rising young film maker Joseph Chastain will begin shooting a documentary on Self Injury this spring. Prominent experts Andrew Levander and Dr. Tracy Alderman will be among the interview subjects.

November 30, 2005. HBO documentary Dare to Dream: The Story of the U.S. Women's Soccer Team debuts December 11 on HBO. Brandi Chastain features prominently in this chronicle of the nearly 20-year arc of U.S. women's soccer.
November 23, 2005. Professor Clark E. Chastain is dead at age 76. Clark was born November 12, 1928 in Cecil, Arkansas. He and Eva Goette were married in Idar-Oberstein, Germany on December 29, 1952 while he was serving with the U.S. Army. Her parents were Karl and Margarete Goette of Wolfen, East Germany. Professor Chastain was associated with the University of Michigan from 1958 until his retirement in 1994, after which he was declared Professor Emeritus. He held a master's degree from the University of Arkansas and a doctorate from the University of Michigan. He taught at the Ann Arbor and Dearborn campus before moving to the Flint campus in the mid-seventies. Professor Chastain wrote accounting textbooks including Corporate Asset Management: A Guide for Financial and Accounting Professionals, 1987. Clark E. Chastain was actively involved in Chastain genealogical research and investigated landmarks for Rev. John Chastain in the Carolinas, Elijah in Georgia, and Pierre in France. He contributed a scholarly article on his research in France to the April, 1980 issue of The Chestnut Tree. His descent from Pierre is Ulysses Grant (7), Joseph D. (6), Edward Bruce (5), Edward Brigand (4), John (3), Peter, Jr. (2), Pierre (1). Professor Chastain died Thursday, October 20, 2005 at a facility for assisted living in Grand Blanc, Michigan. His funeral was held October 25, 2005 in Charleston, Arkansas, and he is buried in Lowe's Creek Cemetery in Lowe's Creek, Arkansas. He and Eva had no children. (notice expanded 1-17-06)

Six consecutive AFC Central titles, eight playoff appearances, four Super Bowl wins. Rocky Bleier wrote the foreword.
